Len Almond
Len Almond is the Foundation Director of BHF National Centre for Physical Activity and Health. The National Centre translates
research into practical guidelines and produces resources for different settings and different population groups. One of the
resources that Len initiated was a Workplace Health resource. Recently, he has been involved in two national evaluations of Workplace Health.

Alison Dunn
Alison Dunn is Head of Treatment Services, in the Occupational Health Department at Transport for London. She leads on mental health issues within the organisation and she is also responsible for the Counselling & Trauma Service, the Physiotherapy Service, and the Drug and Alcohol Assessment & Treatment Service. Alison is managing a five year stress plan which is just entering its fifth year.

Gillian Thurgood
Gillian Thurgood is UK Manager, Employee Health Support and Resilience, GlaxoSmithKline, responsible for the shared services delivery of resilience programmes, health enhancement, and work/life programmes and services in the
UK. GSK’s resilience programme has been recognised by BITC and awarded a Big Tick in 2007, and was winner of Personnel Today’s Health at Work Award in 2005. The programme has also been recognised as a ‘Beacon of Excellence’ by the Health & Safety Executive.

Dr Ian Lawson
Dr Ian Lawson is responsible for Global Occupational Health policy and strategy at Rolls-Royce plc. He manages a team of
30 Occupational Health doctors, nurses and physiotherapists.Rolls-Royce plc was recognised as a ‘Beacon of Excellence’ for
their Stress Prevention programme by a Health & Safety Executive commissioned report in 2003. He is an accredited specialist in Occupational Medicine and a past President of the Society of Occupational Medicine.

Angela Whitehead
Angela Whitehead started in what was then called industrial health in 1974 and in the intervening years has worked in most
sectors of UK business, including a spell in HSE. For the last twelve years she has worked with BP, based in the UK however
travelling and working with global teams. Angela is currently responsible for BP’s psychological health management programme ‘Mind Matters’.

Gay Buchanan
Gay Buchanan is the former Project Leader – Global Record Retention at Eli Lilly. The launch of the Employee Assistance
Programme in 2003 across the UK was one of the most successful launches of any Lilly HR programme due to the partnership with the EA provider. During 2005 and 2006 she
was responsible for the launch of a mandatory Well-being
programme to all managers and supervisors and a Well-being awareness programme to all employees.
