Dr David Batman
Dr David Batman has been with Nestlé UK Ltd since
1988 as a Consultant Occupational Physician.
Having established safe working conditions and
workplace practices for employee safety and the
provision of a central in-house ccupational Health
Service, he now has an expanded role from 2007 as
Head of Employee Wellness.

Mary Boughton
Mary Boughton is chair of the Health & Safety
Committee for the Federation of Small Businesses,
as well as a director of Dorwest Herbs. Mary is also
Chairman of the National Office of Animal Health’s
(NOAH) Companion Animal Sub-Committee. She
lectures worldwide and writes for many veterinary
publications.

Dr Eileen Cahill-Canning
Dr Eileen Cahill-Canning is the Chief Medical Officer
with the Metropolitan Police Service where she has
worked for the past 7 years. Prior to this, Eileen
worked as an Occupational Physician in the private
sector. In addition to her Occupational Health
qualifications, she holds an MBA in health services
management. In 2008, Eileen was awarded an MBE
for her services to the police.

Dr Dorian Dugmore
Dr Dorian Dugmore has been working in
Cardiovascular Medicine and Wellness for 30 years
and has worked for companies in the UK including
Schwarz Pharma, adidas and Allied Dunbar. He
joined forces with adidas U.K. to pioneer a new
concept in Preventative Medicine and Wellness at
the adidas U.K. headquarters.

Tricia O’Neil
Tricia O’Neil has been an Occupational Health
professional for 18 years. She worked for Procter &
Gamble for 7 years, latterly auditing health systems
through the EMEA region. For the past 6 years
she has been Group Health Services Manager for
Centrica.

Dean Patterson
Dean Patterson is Global Health and Productivity
Manager for Unilever, where his overriding aim at
work, reporting into Head of Corporate Occupational
Health, is to assist and integrate the speciality
of employee health programmes and vitality into
the strategic and operational activities in some
of Unilever’s regional businesses.

Jane Saunders
Jane Saunders first entered the field of Occupational
Health in 1989 at St Thomas’ Hospital, where
she also completed her Diploma in Occupational
Health nursing. Since then her Occupational Health
experience has included the NHS, Public Health
Laboratory, Investment Banking and the Defence
Industry.

Steven Sumner
Steven Sumner is Local Government Employers’
(LGE) National Health and Safety Policy Adviser.
In his current role he is responsible for providing
strategic guidance to local authorities on their role
within the Revitalising Health and Safety Agenda
and represents the Employers’ Side on a number
of HSE committees including the Health and Safety
Forum.

Nic Marks is Founder of the centre for well-being
and has led the well-being programme at nef since
2001. Nic is a recognised expert in the field of
well-being research and has expertise in relation
to individual, social, economic and environmental
indicators of well-being.
