Corporate Manslaughter
Implications of the new law on health & safety practice
Thursday, 6th July 2006
The Government's draft Bill on corporate manslaughter significantly shifts responsibility for organisations and individuals who do not adhere to UK health and safety laws. Public and departmental consultations have resulted in a
Government commitment to reform current corporate manslaughter laws. The Home Office will introduce its new Bill by the end of the present parliamentary session in July.
Corporate manslaughter is an issue that senior management must be fully aware of – research shows that there are still many organisations and individuals who disregard or do not understand the ramifications of their actions. The new Bill combines a realistic way to reflect responsibilities in organisations with accountability and justice for victims.
Why You Should Attend
This second annual event examines the law and how making changes to your health and safety policy now can protect your organisation from risks that may lead to employee injury, death and prosecution. The conference offers a strategic and
practical analysis of the new manslaughter Bill and the issues facing HR professionals, health and safety managers, fleet managers and senior management in both the public and private sectors.
