Childcare and Employers 2006
Tax update, case studies & encouraging employee take-up
Wednesday, 13th September 2006
Employer supported childcare remains a topical and important issue for both employers and Government. The March '06 Budget increase in the level of tax exemption for employer- funded childcare is testament to the continuing importance of this topic. However, recent figures suggest that despite significant publicity, and the massive financial benefit to working parents, only 6% of UK employers currently operate a childcare voucher scheme.
Two years after the tax exemption was first introduced, this third annual Symposium Events Childcare conference will focus on the practical details and learned experiences of implementing vouchers and other childcare schemes. The programme will combine an in-depth analysis of the implementing of a childcare scheme, communicating to employees, encouraging take-up, together with a description of the practical childcare and salary sacrifice solutions available to all employers. This unique event brings together the UK's leading childcare experts, consultants and suppliers, and presents case studies from employers who have set up schemes themselves.
Employer supported childcare is a simple and obvious option for employers, it is cost neutral, tax efficient and a popular employee benefit. It makes business sense for employers to help staff with their childcare needs, as it aids recruitment and retention, raises employee motivation and can increase productivity.
