Ageing & Senior Management
Tuesday, 7th November 2006

The proportion of older workers in the UK is growing - 40% of the adult population is now aged 50 or over and this is set to increase to 3 million by 2020. The timeliness of new age legislation, which takes effect in October, is reflected by the recent high profile disputes from Morrisons and BP. These have highlighted the challenges for HR professionals, shareholders and boards when dealing with career strategies for senior employees. While many organisations advocate a mandatory retirement age, others think this is ageist and employees should be kept until they choose to retire.

This conference will cover issues that affect the recruitment, detainment and removal of senior employees including flexible retirement, mandatory retirement and the legal aspects surrounding the new age legislation. The conference will provide an opportunity for employers to question some of the UK's foremost experts on board level HR strategy and how this is affected by recent developments.
