Health Policy in the Workplace
Analysis of the New Government Initiative, the Wellbeing Agenda and the Latest Trends in Health Strategy
11th July 2007

Introduction
With levels of stress and obesity in the workforce increasing sharply, there is a mounting impetus for employers to provide more effective health policies to address such problems. Evidence suggests that unhealthy employees are 20% less productive than those that are healthy. Workplace health issues are becoming increasingly salient in the public arena with the launch of the Government’s Health, Work and Wellbeing initiative. A successful health policy can increase productivity, reduce sickness absence and increase return to work rates and the potential return on investment is therefore significant.

The aim of this conference is to provide delegates with advice from experts in the field of employee wellbeing and health insurance along with key examples of award winning health policies. This conference will examine the impact of the booming wellness agenda, the rise in obesity, stress and absenteeism and will assess how the health strategies of leading employers are changing to meet those requirements.

Why You Should Attend
This conference is essential for those wanting to improve the productivity, sickness absence and wellbeing of their workforce and in doing so create a positive working environment. Attendees can expect to learn from award winning examples of health policy at work along with expert legal and industry advice. By the end of the conference delegates will be able to take away a clear idea of best practice in health policy and better understand how their organisation can meet the health policy challenges that lie ahead.
