Corporate Manslaughter
Preparing your organisation for the new legislation
Thursday, 24th November 2005
The new Corporate Manslaughter Bill increases organisational responsibility, and will result in a higher number of prosecutions for organisations who breach health and safety laws.
This change in the law represents the most significant overhaul in this field for over a decade, and has far-reaching implications. In the past it was extremely difficult to hold an organisation responsible for fatal incidents that occurred when it had failed to meet health and safety standards. New penalties include limitless fines and cases can be held in the Crown Court.
This timely event examines the issues facing senior directors, HR professionals, health and safety managers and specialists such as fleet managers in the public and private sectors. Three focussed workshops (see below) will enable all attendees to explore the most critical developments in their field.
