Philip Hollingdale, Managing Director, Staffcare

Phillip HollingdalePhilip is the founder of Staffcare - the flexible online benefits communication software. He has a long and successful career in developing software for the financial services sector and now spends most of his time working with Benefit Consultants who use Staffcare to provide branded and customised online communication solutions to their corporate clients.

Philip is also chairman of Screen Pages Limited, providers of outsourced e-commerce solutions to many of the UK 's leading retail and mail order companies.

Ken Macintyre, Policy Advisor - Pensions and Benefits, NAPF

Ken MacintyreKen MacIntyre is Policy Adviser (Pensions and benefits) reporting to the Policy Director, Joanne Segars. He joined NAPF as policy analyst in June 2004. He is an experienced pensions specialist, mainly in scheme management, including assignments for an energy company, a Plc and a trade union. Until 2003, he was UK Pensions Manager at Halliburton the US multinational.

At NAPF he has worked on the Pensions Act, researched scheme governance, is working on a series of Made Simple guides and is currently handling a number of consultation issues He has co-authored a papers on pensions policy, is a member of the Independent Pensions Research Group, and a Fellow of the Pensions Management Institute.

Ken is also studying for an MSc in Social and Political Theory.

David Cassidy, CEO, JPMorgan INVEST

David CassidyDavid Cassidy is CEO of JPMorgan INVEST which has been established with the aim of becoming the premier UK Workplace Financial Services Brand supplying one stop financial education and enablement to employers and their employees.

David has over 20 years experience of providing financial education to the employees of many of the UK 's most prominent employers. He was previously chairman and CEO of Nelson Money Managers Plc which he built into one of the leading providers of investment advice and management for individual investors in retirement.

David has also been a regular commentator on personal financial issues in both the press and broadcast media for a number of years.

David has been involved in Regulation for over a decade having served as a Director of IMRO where he was Chairman of the Investment Ombudsmen Committee, and is currently a member of the Financial Services Authority's (FSA) Regulatory Decisions Committee (RDC) dealing with Authorisation and Enforcement matters.

Paul Cottis, Audit & Pension Schemes Services, Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs (HMRC)

Paul CottisPaul Cottis - has spent most of his working career in the public sector, with the Natural Environment Research Council and latterly, the Inland Revenue, now HMRC. He has been part of the Pensions Tax Simplification Project team working on communications since two days after the first consultation document was issued in December 2002.

Outside HMRC, Paul is very keen on wildlife filmmaking and photography and spends as much time as possible in out the way places looking for that special bit of film that will make his fortune.

Charles Cotton, Advisor - Reward and Employment Conditions, Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD)

Charles CottonCharles Cotton joined the Institute in October 2002. He previously worked as a researcher and writer for IRS Employment Review and as a senior research officer for the Employers' Organisation for local government specialising in pay and workforce analysis.

Charles is responsible for monitoring trends in reward management in both the public and private sectors - on a range of areas including total rewards, pensions and equal pay. Other areas of interest include flexible benefits, company cars and allowances, employee share schemes and employee benefits.

He is responsible for the CIPD's annual surveys of UK reward management practice and the pay and benefits enjoyed working in UK HR.

Charles recently project-managed research investigating the underlying links between reward and recognition and delivering excellent customer service (with the Institute of Customer Service), and a good practice guide on communicating pensions to existing and potential employees. He is currently working on a briefing on employee share plans.

Paul Couchman, Director, Premier Pensions Management

Paul CouchmanPaul is a director and shareholder of Premier Pensions Management Limited (PPM).

He joined the firm earlier this year having previously spent 22 years with Mercer HR Consulting where he was a worldwide partner and held various leadership roles in benefits consulting, pensions administration and sales and marketing.

PPM is a benefits consultancy, established 2 years ago and now employing 20 staff.

The focus is on providing flexible and innovative ways to help employers manage their pension plans whether they are trust or contract based, DB or DC, open to new members or closed. In addition they provide full management and secretarial support services to scheme trustees.

A significant part of Paul's consulting experience has been in the financial sector where he has worked with many companies on their benefits provision including switches to DC and integration following acquisitions. He has spoken at a number of conferences and seminars over the years.

Paul is a fellow of the Pensions Management Institute and a PPEC holder.

June Grant, Head of Benefits Practice, Aon Consulting

June GrantJune joined Aon Consulting 2003 bringing with her over twenty years experience of pensions and employee benefits consulting including a period spent outside the pensions industry in compensation and benefits within the wines and spirits sector.

After heading up the Aon Scottish consulting operation she was recently appointed head of Research for the Aon Consulting business.

An experienced Consultant June takes a "hands on" approach to her Research responsibilities by continuing to advise a diversified portfolio of client companies and trustees.

A Fellow of the Pensions Management Institute and a Chartered Insurance Practitioner she also holds qualifications in international benefits and business management.

Stuart Stephen, Pensions Director, Barclays

Stuart StephenStuart Stephen joined Barclays in April 2002 as Director of Pensions and is married with 2 children. Stuart graduated from Glasgow University with an Honours degree in Pure Maths and when he discovered there was no future in training for the British space programme he turned to pensions for his out of world experiences!

Stuart has been actively involved in the pensions industry over the last 20 years, firstly as a consultant with Mercer and then latterly Group Pension Manager for Coats Viyella and then ScottishPower. He is also a past Chairman of the Scottish Group of the NAPF.

Outside work Stuart plays hockey and tennis competitively and is an active skier. Currently he is trying to avoid losing to his children at tennis and is desperately aiming for a sub 3 hour marathon!

Richard Wilson, Policy Advisor, Association of British Insurers

Richard WilsonRichard Wilson is part of the Pensions and Savings Team at the Association of British Insurers, and leads on issues relating to financial education and advice and the workplace. Shaping the pensions industry's involvement in the FSA's Financial Capability Strategy and the DWP's Informed Choice agenda are key elements of this role.

He is also a trustee and board member of pfeg, the charity that promotes financial education in schools. Richard has previously spent 4 years leading campaigns on pension and income issues at Help the Aged, and has worked on similar policy areas at the ODPM and in parliament.

Alex Waite, Partner, Lane Clark & Peacock LLP

Alex WaiteAlex joined LCP in 1995, and became a partner in 1999. He is the Head of LCP Corporate Consulting, our specialist practice focusing on pensions issues that are of concern to corporate clients.

Alex specialises in providing advice to companies, in particular with regard to the design issues and accounting costs of employee benefit plans.

He has a wide variety of experience of both UK and overseas retirement benefit schemes and is responsible for the further development of the firm's international capability. In addition to UK consultancy work, approximately half of his time is spent working with our international associates.

Mark RichardsonMark is a Senior Manager for Grant Thornton UK LLP, a leading professional services business advisory organisation and has been providing Consultancy advice - predominantly on Pensions and risk benefits to a broad range of clients in the SME and AIM listed markets for nearly 20 years. Typically his advice is engaged through the business owner or board director function.

Areas of specialism for Mark and his corporate consultant colleagues is in the design & implementation of employee benefit programmes, work site communication, due diligence assessment and financial modelling with respect to mergers & acquisitions.
