Stress, Bullying and Harassment
The role of EAPs in Risk & Productivity Management
Tuesday, 21st June 2005
Formerly known as: EAP's, Productivity and Risk Management
Introduction
The management of stress, bullying and harassment in the workplace is now a key issue facing all employers. This important conference examines how Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs) - in conjunction with other services - are effective in reducing and managing these workplace problems.
The Employee Assistance Professionals Association (EAPA) is proud to present its first national conference aimed at HR and occupational health professionals. EAPs have enjoyed a higher profile amongst employers since 1990. The recent "Hatton" Court of Appeal judgement in 2002 endorsed their effectiveness in stress-related litigation risk management.
The aim of this conference is to examine the broader role of EAPs and in particular, to demonstrate how EAPs are an important component in an employer's response to the financial, legal and strategic challenges posed by stress, bullying and harassment.

The EAPA is the international professional body for Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs). It represents the interests of UK professionals concerned with employee assistance, psychological health and well being.
EAPs address team and individual performance and well being in the workplace. They include a mechanism for providing counselling and other forms of assistance, advice and information to employees. EAPs are strategic interventions designed to produce organisational benefits - including quantifiable outcome measurement - through a systems-lead approach and human asset management.
